BOZEMAN — Part of the Montana State 2019 recruiting class included Bozeman’s own Justus Perkins.

Perkins played center for the Hawks and earned first-team all-state recognition for his senior-year performance. The best part about the signing, though: He’s following in his father’s footsteps, who played cornerback for the Bobcats in the 1990s.

“It’s crazy, definitely. Had to take a second to think about it because my dad played up there from ’96 to 2000 so following in his footsteps and all that,” Perkins said. “But it’s a great opportunity. I couldn’t be more excited.”

Perkins is certainly happy to have the recruiting process finished.

“To have me finally decide on a school to go to, it’s great. A lot of pressure has been relieved and I just can’t wait to start it up, the next chapter of my life,” he finished.

Perkins joins teammates Ryan Lonergan and Joe Olson, who are also committed to the Cats next season.
