HELENA — Helena High’s Alex Johnson has verbally committed to Montana State University to play football, according to Johnson’s coach, Scott Evans. Evans said that the Bobcats offered Johnson an opportunity to play college football and beamed at the Johnson’s opportunity, telling MTN Sports what kind of player the Bobcats are getting.
“He’s a guy who can do everything. You put him on offense, he’s going to do some things for you there. Defensively he can play about five or six positions,” said Evans. “He just does everything very well, he’s a solid football player besides the fact that he’s a 4.0 student. He’s one of those guys who plays football the way it should be played.”
There are two periods for Johnson to sign a National Letter of Intent. Per www.nationalletter.org, the early period for Division I football signings spans Dec. 19-21 and the regular period spans Feb. 6, 2019 to Apr. 1, 2019.
