BILLINGS – For eight minutes Friday night, it looked like the top-ranked team was in trouble.
Lewistown built a 12-0 lead on No. 1 Billings Central, with quarterback Mitchell Norslien running for a touchdown and orchestrating a trick play, a double pass, for another, but the Rams outscored the Eagles 49-6 the rest of the game to notch the 49-18 Eastern A football win and remain unbeaten.
Jack Studer put Central on the board near the end of the first quarter, rushing for a 30-yard score to get the Rams within five. But Norslien and Jacob Clinton struck again, giving Lewistown an 18-7 advantage midway through the second quarter. Lewistown never scored again.
Duncan Kraft had three rushing touchdowns, while quarterback Joe Byorth and receiver Chrishon Dixon hooked up for a pair of touchdowns through the air as Central improved to 8-0.
Lewistown fell to 6-2 with the loss.
