STANFORD — Big Sandy picked up a huge conference win against Denton-Geyser-Stanford on Saturday afternoon in Stanford. Kade Strutz ran for six touchdowns to lead the Pioneers past the Bearcats, 66-31, in 6-Man football action.
Strutz got Big Sandy on the board early and often. He had three rushing touchdowns in the first quarter, coming from 22, 5 and 46 yards, respectively. Srutz added his fourth and fifth before halftime to give Big Sandy a 44-6 lead at the break. Strutz’s sixth rushing touchdown of the game gave the Pioneers a 61-19 lead. Parker Proulx added a pair of touchdown passes for Big Sandy.
Strutz finished with 331 yards on 23 carries and sic touchdowns.
Big Sandy improves to 4-2 (4-1 6-Man North) and Denton-Geyser-Stanford drops to 5-2 (4-1). The Piooners’ two losses this season have come to No. 2 Geraldine-Highwood and defending state champion Westby-Grenora.
