EUREKA — Randy Stultz ran for three touchdowns and intercepted two passes to lead Bigfork to a dominant win on the road at two-time defending Class B state champion Eureka, 37-0, to snap the Lions’ 23-game winning streak.

Neither side mustered much offense in the first half, but Bigfork’s Jeremy Herd kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead heading into the break. Bigfork then took the opening kick of the second half and wasted no time adding to its lead. Stultz found paydirt from 29 yards out less than two minutes into the third quarter.

Eureka turned the ball over on downs inside its own territory on the following possession, allowing Anders Epperly to find Brady Thorness across the middle for a 21-yard touchdown pass. Stultz then intercepted Lions quarterback Hank Dunn and returned it to the Eureka 25 before scoring from 18 yards out just two plays later to push the lead to 24-0. Stultz put the exclamation point on the victory with his 70-yard touchdown run in the end of the third quarter giving the Vikings a 31-0 advantage.

The Bigfork defense harassed Dunn all night, flushing him from the pocket and forcing him to get rid of the ball on the run or make inaccurate throws. Stultz and senior middle linebacker Logan Gilliard registered interceptions for the Vikings’ defense.
