6-Man roundup: Geraldine-Highwood wins shootout against Big Sandy

BIG SANDY — Brady Duvall tossed four touchdown passes and Liam Laws ran for three scores to help Geraldine-Highwood outscore Big Sandy, 56-42, in 6-Man football action on Friday.

Big Sandy started the scoring on a Kade Strutz 2-yard touchdown run, but Geraldine-Highwood quickly answered. The Rivals used the big play in the first half, getting touchdown passes of 51 yards and 48 yards from Duvall to JR Spencer and Bryce Birgenheier.

Geraldine-Highwood grabbed a 30-12 lead just minutes into the second half after Laws scored his first touchdown of the game. From there, the two teams traded scores the remainder of the way, with Big Sandy unable to close the gap below 12 points. A pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes by Duvall put the game out of reach.

Duvall completed 11 of 13 passess for 252 yards and the four touchdowns, all of which went to different receivers. Strutz led Big Sandy with 158 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the ground. Strutz also hauled in seven passes for 59 yards.
