PHILIPSBURG — The defending 8-Man state champion from Drummond-Philipsburg made a statement Friday night, romping rival Charlo 52-8.
In what was billed as one of the state’s top games of the weekend, the Titans jumped out quickly and never looked back, leading 38-0 at one point in the first half.
Sophomore quarterback Kade Cutler found the electric Jaxon Lee for long touchdowns through the air twice and senior tailback Colby Manley bullied Charlo on the ground. Charlo failed to muster much of anything offensively throughout the course of the game.
Drummond-Philipsburg and Charlo are two of the favorites for the 8-Man state title, but the Titans might just be head and shoulders above the field after their dominant showing.
