CHARLO — The Charlo Vikings look like one of 8-Man football’s toughest teams. Leading by just six at halftime, Charlo put the clamps on Arlee, shutting the Warriors out in the second half. The Vikings won 36-16.
Landers Smith had his fingerprints all over this game. The Vikings’ star quarterback threw a pair of first half touchdowns to Bridger Faust.
However, Arlee kept it close early on. Lane Schall and Lane Johnson connected on a touchdown pass to cut the lead to 14-8 and another Arlee touchdown before the half made it 22-16.
The Charlo defense wouldn’t give up another point, as they picked up a big early season conference victory. Up next for the Vikings is a road game against defending state champion Drummond-Philipsburg.
