BUTTE — Great Falls Central and Twin Bridges met at Bob Green Field on the campus of Montana Tech on Friday night to kick off the 2018 season. The Mustangs jumped out 27-0 in the first half on their way to a 46-0 shutout victory over the Falcons.

Future Montana Grizzly Noah Ambuehl shined under the bright lights, scoring five total touchdowns — three passing and two rushing. Ambuehl found Ethan Vincent from 13 yards out for his first scoring strike of the game. Vincent completed the catch with a beautiful toe tap along the back corner of the endzone. Ambuehl found Vincent from 55 yards midway through the second quarter to push the Mustangs’ lead to 20-0.

As time was expiring in the first half, Great Falls Central was driving and out of timeouts. After a completion down to the 1-yard line and the clock still rolling, Ambuehl hustled the Mustangs to the line of scrimmage and crept in on a quarterback sneak just before the clock hit zeroes. Ambuehl found Vincent for the third time on the Mustangs’ opening play of the second half to stretch the lead out to 33-0.

Great Falls Central lost to Fairview in the opening round of the playoffs last season.
