BELGRADE — A crosstown rivalry took place on Tuesday night, as Belgrade took on Bozeman in volleyball. The Hawks outlasted the Panthers for a thrilling five-set win, 25-19, 24-26, 25-14, 10-25, 16-14.
Bozeman was up 24-19 in the first set after trailing for a large part it, and a Kamryn Larson spike ended a 41-second volley for set point to give the Hawks the first set.
In the second set it was 24-all and Bozeman couldn't handle the serve by Belgrade. Then on set point, Bozeman looked to tie it up, but the Hawks were too strong on the hit back over. It was all tied up at one set a piece.
Bozeman took the third set 25-14 and Belgrade took the fourth 25-10 to force the tie-breaking fifth set.
With the score at 14-all, Belgrade couldn't get the kill to go over the net. With Bozeman looking for match point, Belgrade once again hit it straight into the net, sending the Hawks to the crosstown win.
