BOZEMAN — Tuesday brought the latest edition of the newest rivalry in Bozeman, as brand new Bozeman Gallatin's soccer programs took on Bozeman High on a smoky night. The two teams currently share a home field and met for the first time.

The Hawks already led 1-0 when Drew Johnson dished it to Will Kaiser, who made a move and kicked it into the far side of the net, putting Bozeman up 2-0.

Johnson would finish the day with three goals to complete the hat trick.

Tyler Nyquist scored the lone goal for the Raptors in a 4-1 defeat.

The girls game brought deja vu, as Bozeman took the early lead. A penalty kick halfway through the first saw Payton Putnam snipe one in from close to put the Hawks up 1-0 en route to a 4-1 cruising victory.

Olivia Collins had the lone goal for Gallatin.

Bozeman completed the sweep of its new rival in Round 1, while the two teams are slated to meet again on Oct. 6.
