JOLIET – The Big Timber boys came into Friday night undefeated, and they remained perfect after a 70-58 win over Joliet.
The Sheepherders, after trailing early 10-9, responded with a 25-8 run to take a 34-18 lead midway through the second quarter.
The J-Hawks did not go quietly. Joliet turned to its star, Ry Olson, and he responded by hitting shots from all over the court.
Olson and the J-Hawks cut the halftime deficit to nine points, but Big Timber is undefeated for a reason. The Herders are led by senior Kell Schwers and he did not disappoint.
Schwers hit circus layup after circus layup and then showed off his outside shooting stroke, as Big Timber kept Joliet at arms length.
The Herders are now 15-0 on the season.
