Three Forks sweeps doubleheader at Jefferson

BOULDER — The Three Forks boys and girls basketball teams hit the road to face Jefferson in a District 5B showdown.

The boys started the evening first, and Three Forks wasted no time jumping all over Jefferson, building a 33-16 halftime advantage. The Wolves opened the third quarter on a 13-2 run in the first three minutes to put the lead out of the Panthers’ reach, rolling to a 79-40 win.

Three Forks improves to 9-4 overall and 5-2 in conference, while Jefferson falls to 4-9, 2-6.

The defending Class B champion Three Forks girls, however, didn’t have the easy victory the Wolves’ boys team did. Three Forks built a 25-20 halftime lead but locked down the Panthers in the second half, holding them to just 14 points. Kyle Olson racked up 30 points for the Wolves, who rolled to a 45-34 win.

Three Forks is now 7-6, 3-4, while Jefferson sits at 5-8, 2-6.
