BUTTE – Butte High hosted Dillon in a boys and girls basketball inter-class doubleheader game at the Butte Civic Center Tuesday night.

In the girls game, Butte jumped out to one of the most impressive starts from its squad this year. Transition offense fueled the Bulldogs. Ally Cleverly and Aspen Lovshin controlled the pace and found open teammates down low for easy baskets. When Butte couldn’t find answers inside, the Bulldogs dialed it up from long range, as well. Dillon had brief offensive spurts from Jordyn McKay and Kylee Pittman, but a 40-12 halftime deficit was what the Beavers had to deal with. They put on a better second-half performance, but the gap between them and Butte was too much, and the Bulldogs rolled on to win, 62-35.

The boys game was back and forth early on. Kash Kelly played his role in facilitating the Bulldog offense. He found teammate Trevyn Roth for back-to-back 3s, which got the crowd going and gave Butte a six-point lead in the first quarter. Jace Fitzgerald and Dylan Cervelli kept the Beavers in it. As halftime approached, Butte went on a 10-4 run to take a 30-19 lead into the break. The Bulldogs would hold on and get a rebound win against a talented Dillon squad by a final of 62-52.
