HELENA — Helena Capital held off a furious fourth-quarter rally by Great Falls High on Saturday afternoon, prevailing for a five-point win over the Bison, 48-43. It is Great Falls High’s first loss of the season.
Capital led 44-32 with under three minutes to play, but Great Falls High’s Cash Abbott buried back-to-back triples to cut the lead to six. The Bison would get as close as four, but a pair of Brady Martin baskets with less than a minute to play sealed the win for the Bruins.
Helena Capital improves to 4-3 with the win, while Great Falls High falls to 4-1. The Bruins are back in action on Tuesday against Missoula Sentinel. Great Falls High faces crosstown rival Great Falls CMR on Thursday.
