Big second half propels Billings Central past Miles City

BILLINGS – Billings Central’s boys outscored Miles City 36-11 in the second half, turning a two-point halftime lead into a 61-34 runaway win Friday night in their Eastern A opener against Miles City.

Central jumped out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter, but the Cowboys responded with an 11-4 run of their own to get within 18-14 at the end of the first. Miles City then outscored Central 9-7 in the second to get within 25-23 at halftime.

The Rams, however, outscored the Cowboys 16-2 in the third quarter and 20-9 in the fourth to pull away for the easy win.

Central senior Cade Herriford led all scorers with 18.

The Rams are now 5-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in the Eastern A. Miles City falls to 1-5, 1-2 with the loss.
