HELENA- With the Thanksgiving holiday coming to an end and the start of December on the horizon, boys and girls basketball teams are hitting the hardwood across the state of Montana in pursuit of one thing — a state championship.
The Helena High boys’ team roster was finalized prior to Thanksgiving and took to the court Monday to prepare for the next four basketball-filled months. Bengals head coach Brandon Day said that following a two-and-out finish at the state tournament at the end of last season, he’s looking forward to this year.
“We hope to really encourage the style of play that I‘m looking forward to playing this year,” said Day. “I mean, we have the athletes to do it. I hope it can get us a few wins this year and move us along this season.”
The Bengals will open up the 2018-19 season at home against Butte on Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
