TOWNSEND — The Livingston boys basketball team pulled away from Townsend in the second half to beat the Bulldogs, 51-30.

The Class A Rangers built a 29-19 halftime advantage over the Class B Bulldogs. Livingston was suffocating defensively in the second half, giving up just three points in the third quarter.

Livingston was led in scoring by junior Brendon Johnson, who finished with 18 points. Tyson Racht led Townsend with a game-high 19 points.

On the girls side, Townsend evened the score. In a sloppy, turnover filled first half, neither team could gain separation, as Townsend led 17-12 at the break. Townsend extended its lead to as many as 14 in the second half, but Livingston was able to trim the deficit to single digits early in the fourth quarter.

However, a pair of quick buckets by Tavia Rooney and Denika Dolan helped Townsend stave off defeat, winning 37-28.
