FRENCHTOWN – Thirty-two boys and girls Class C basketball teams from western Montana came to Frenchtown Friday to tip off their season with the Western C Tip-Off Tournament.
Charlo vs. Alberton-Superior Girls: In the first girls game, Charlo came out hot, taking a commanding lead in the first half. The Lady Vikings continued to hold that lead into the second half and went on to win 52-31.
Plains vs. Drummond Girls: In the second girls game, Drummond and Plains were in a defensive struggle to the very end. Kylee Altmiller had a clutch lay-in at the end to take a three-point lead for Plains, and they sealed it with free throws, 22-18.
Plains vs. Drummond Boys: In the first boys game, Drummond took on Plains. Drummond led by a good portion most of the game, but Plains pulled close late. Plains brought it within two in the final 30 seconds, but Drummond sealed the deal with free throws. They won 52-47.
Noxon vs. Alberton-Superior Boys: In the second boys game, it was Noxon taking on Alberton-Superior. Alberton-Superior came out hot, going on an impressive 8-0 run, but that wouldn’t last. Noxon pulled away in the second half and took the win, 73-53.
