BOZEMAN — Billings Central swept Belgrade in Friday night’s undefeated semifinal to move into Saturday’s championship match at the Class A state volleyball tournament at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the campus of Montana State University.
The Rams will get an opportunity to defend their 2017 Class A state title. Olivia Moten-Schell once again led the attack for Central, racking up a team-high 16 kills. Moten-Schell also had 14 digs and one ace for the Rams.
Avery Hadley made her presence felt defensively, picking up a game-high 30 digs. Sierra Schuster had 20 digs and 28 assists.
Belgrade, which lost to Billings Central in last year’s state championship, moves into Saturday third-place match against Corvallis, a rematch of last year’s third-place match that Belgrade won.

CORVALLIS DEF. LIBBY 25-22, 25-18, 25-21
Corvallis kept its season alive by eliminating Libby in the Class A state volleyball fourth-place match in a sweep.
Maureen Jessop led Corvallis with 11 kills and three blocks, and chipped in 12 digs, too. Casey Fison had a game-high 15 digs for the Blue Devils, as well as three aces. Hannah Martin had 33 assists to lead Corvallis.
Alli Collins led Libby with 32 assists and four aces. Jayden Winslow had a game-high 13 kills.
Corvallis moves into Saturday morning’s third-place match against Belgrade. Its a familiar position for the Blue Devils, who lost to Belgrade in the same match last season to finish third.
Libby finishes as the fourth-place team in Class A.
