BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Three-time Montana State pole vault champion Garrison Hughes finished ninth Friday at the USA Track & Field Junior Outdoor National Championships on the campus of Indiana University.
Hughes cleared 4.85 meters (15 feet, 11 inches) on his final attempt before missing all three attempts at 5.00 meters (16-04.75). The recently graduated Sidney Eagle will vault for the University of Nebraska starting in the fall.
Zachary Bradford won Friday’s competition as the only athlete to clear 5.55 meters (18-02.5).
