GREAT FALLS – Sixteen golfers teed off at the District II State Junior qualifier Monday morning at Meadowlark Country Club in Great Falls with eyes on making the cut for the Montana Junior Championship next weekend in Polson.

Recently graduated Ben Kaul of Great Falls CMR led the 16-18-year-old boys group with a 77, winning a tiebreaker over fellow Rustler Tucker Thomas, who also shot a 77. Duncan Hollar shot a 79 for a CMR sweep of the top three spots.

Rising Great Falls High senior Connor Mora earned the final qualifying spot with an 83. But since three of the seven golfers in the age group had already pre-qualified, all seven will advance to the state junior championships.
