SHERIDAN, Wyo. – The Treasure State’s dominance continued Friday night in the Midland Roundtable Montana-Wyoming all-star basketball series.

Montana’s girls rolled to their fourth straight win, 61-37 in the early game, while the boys won their 13th straight over their southern rivals, 76-63 in the nightcap.

Missoula Sentinel star Kylie Frohlich led a balanced Montana attack with 11 points in the girls game, while Dillon’s Brynley Fitzgerald added 10. Each will stay in Montana to continue their basketball careers – Frohlich with the Montana Lady Grizzlies and Fitzgerald with the Montana State Bobcats.

The girls led 25-17 at halftime but quickly pushed the advantage to double digits, winning the third quarter 20-8.

Montana’s boys blitzed Wyoming out of the gates, starting the game on a 14-3 run. The lead ballooned to 31-12 after two Sam Beighle 3-pointers in the second quarter. The Gatorade Player of the Year scored 10 in the opening half.

Wyoming chipped away after halftime, getting the lead down to single digits early in fourth quarter, but Bozeman’s Mack Anderson threw down a big two-handed dunk to snatch momentum back.

The teams will rematch Saturday night at Rocky Mountain College in Billings. The girls tip at 5:30 p.m. with the boys following.
