BELGRADE — On a day where the semifinals and finals were moved up due to weather concerns, the conditions were just as incredible as the two-sided effort from the Florence Falcons, who shut out Huntley Project 10-0 in the Class B-C state championship softball game.

The game was tied 0-0 through the first three innings of the game, as the Falcons’ Brianna Hoffman and Red Devils’ Addy Hultgren dueled to a scoreless draw.

Natalie Dulac changed the game for Florence in the first at-bat of the bottom of the fourth inning, though, hitting a home run to center field that sparked a six-run frame in which the team batted around.

Hoffman only had to hold on for one more inning, which she did brilliantly. Of the 15 outs in the game for the Red Devils, 13 were sat down by way of a Hoffman strikeout.

The championship is the team’s second in a row and the 10th overall.
