Eastern B-C divisional softball bracket set, Western B-C playoffs start Tuesday

Huntley Project, Florence and Plains-Hot Springs won Class B-C regular-season conference titles, securing No. 1 seeds for this week’s divisional tournaments. The Eastern B-C divisional tournament is May 17-19 at Cut Bank, while the Western B-C divisional tournament is May 18-19 at Florence.

The Red Devils finished 9-0 in the Eastern B-C to out-pace Stillwater and Shepherd, who both finished 6-2. The Renegades will be the No. 2 seed for the divisional tournament by virtue of their head-to-head win over the Fillies. Shepherd will be the third seed, followed by No. 4 Great Falls Central.

Glasgow, Conrad, Cut Bank and Colstrip finished in a four-way tie for fifth place with 3-5 conference records. The Scotties won the run differential tiebreaker to earn the No. 5 seed. Conrad, Cut Bank and Colstrip will be the Nos. 6, 7 and 8 seeds, respectively. Shelby finished ninth in the conference and will face Colstrip in the Eastern B-C divisional tournament’s opening game on Thursday. 2018 Eastern B-C divisional softball bracket

Florence and Plains-Hot Springs will compete for top billing in the Western B-C, which is split into South and North sub-divisions, meaning there are three playoff games yet to determine the final teams for the divisional tournament. In the South sub-division, Deer Lodge will host Manhattan and Missoula Loyola will host Drummond in playoff games. In the North, Troy will host Thompson Falls. All three playoff games are scheduled for Tuesday with the winners clinching berths at the divisional tournament.

Florence, the South’s No. 1 seed, and Plains-Hot Springs, the North’s top seed, will be on opposite sides of the Western B-C divisional bracket. Anaconda (South) and Mission-Arlee-Charlo (North) finished second in their respective conferences to clinch automatic berths at the divisional tournament.
