Manhattan sweeps district titles at the District 5B track meet

BELGRADE – The Manhattan Tigers dominated during the District 5B track meet at Belgrade High School, sweeping the boys and girls District 5B titles on Friday. The boys took first with 124 points, while runner-up Townsend had 117. The Manhattan girls team posted 162 points, topping second-place Three Forks, which had 150.

Manhattan’s Bryce Love crushed the track events, winning the 800- and 1,600-meter races. He also finished second in the 3,200-meter run behind teammate Zak Meeker. Tiger senior Hannah Madsen stormed to victory in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs.

The performance of the day went to Big Timber’s Casey Gunlikson, who won five events in the meet: the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter relay, 1,600-meter relay and the 300-meter hurdles. Three Forks’ Sinclair Oliver led the way on the girls side, winning both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. She also dominated in the field events, winning the long jump and the triple jump.
