MISSOULA – We meet another nominee for student-athlete of the year at the KPAX Sports Awards Banquet: Missoula Loyola’s Tessa Burke.
Burke was a star for the Loyola basketball team all year. The 5-foot-9 guard dropped 20 points in her final game as a Breaker but didn’t want it to be her last time on the court. Burke made the choice to commit to play at Eastern Washington next season.
When asked who she looked up to throughout her high school career, she acknowledged her three brothers.
“I think my brothers. Growing up with three other brothers that’s kind of where my love for sports began and taught me how to work hard and have that work ethic, so I’m thankful for them,” said Burke.
