BUTTE — What was a quiet game opened up late at Stodden Park in Butte on Saturday, as a triple from Hamilton’s Caitlin Dillon broke a 2-2 en route to a 6-3 victory.

The Broncs’ Hayley Hudgins added some insurance for the visitors, blasting a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Hudgins and Abby Johnson each drove in two runs to pace Hamilton’s offensive attack. Johnson opened up the scoring with a two-run single in the first inning.

Kloie Thatcher led the way for the Maroons, going 2-for-3 at the plate and scoring a run, while striking out a game-high eight batters on the mound.

Both Thatcher and Hamilton’s Sky Lopez both tossed complete games. Lopez struck out five batters while giving up three runs.

The Broncs improve to 13-1 on the season with the win, while the loss puts Butte Central a game under .500 at 7-8 and snaps a three-game winning streak.
