MISSOULA – Missoula Sentinel wanted a city softball title. And the Spartans didn’t waste any time clinching it.
The Spartans scored seven runs in the first inning versus Missoula Big Sky on their way to an 11-0 win on Tuesday. Kayla Daily provided the highlight with an inside-the-park grand slam. Sentinel added a few more runs to finish off the game due to the 10-run rule after five innings.
Sentinel finishes the crosstown schedule in Missoula undefeated, sweeping the season series against both Big Sky and Hellgate.
Elsewhere in Western AA play on Tuesday, Helena Capital swept a doubleheader at Missoula Hellgate, 17-4 and 10-0.
