BELGRADE – Belgrade softball’s offense looked unstoppable as the Panthers defeated Butte Central 16-4 in five innings at home on Thursday evening. The Panthers used a 12-run second inning that featured a three-run bomb by Haylee Curry and a two-run homer by freshman Maddisen Tomasetti.

Nine players recorded hits for Belgrade as they faced one of the top pitchers in Class A, Kloie Thatcher, who finished with 1.0 IP, seven hits, and a 9.0 ERA. Thatcher had much more success at the plate, launching a solo shot in the fifth inning.

Hazel Eaton got the start for the Panthers, pitching all five innings and allowing 12 hits and striking out seven.

It’s now the fourth win in a row for Belgrade, which moves to 6-2 overall on the season. The Maroons move to 2-3 this year.
