BILLINGS – As snow continues to wreak havoc on Montana’s spring sports schedule, School District 2 activities director Mark Wahl on Thursday announced details on postponements, cancellations and rescheduling of local high school events.

“At this point, here is where we are at with this weekend’s scheduled events,” Wahl wrote in an email, along with the following:

– The 5 B’s Tennis Tournament in Bozeman has been cancelled. Bozeman is planning to explore the possibility of rescheduling.

– The Skyview vs. Central tennis matches that were cancelled this past Tuesday have been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. Boys will play at Rose Park and girls will play at Central Park.

– All varsity and jayvee softball games scheduled in Billings this weekend have been cancelled. We were trying to work something out to send our varsity teams to Missoula. Unfortunately, their forecast for the weekend isn’t good either so they cancelled that this morning (Thursday). We will work to reschedule all jayvee games with Huntley, Shepherd, and Columbus, and as many varsity games as possible with the Missoula schools.

– We are not optimistic about our chances to run the Senior-Butte-West meet Saturday at West High. We will wait until Friday to officially cancel, if we have to.

– The Skyview at Bozeman track and field meet has not been cancelled as of yet. A final decision will be made Friday.

Wahl said his office will announce rescheduling of events as soon as information becomes available.
