PLYMOUTH, Minn. – The Billings Bulls high school team held on for a 4-3 win over Greenville, S.C. Friday night to move to 2-0 in pool play at the USA Hockey High School Junior Nationals tournament.

Billings jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to two first period goals by Seth Hamilton, followed by an early second period tally from Coley Anderson. Greenville quickly answered Anderson’s goal, scoring twice in 51 seconds to pull back within 3-2 midway through the game.

Hamilton completed a hat trick with his third goal late in the second to put the Bulls back up 4-2. Nicolai Menconi pulled Greenville back within 4-3 at the 7:32 mark of the third period, but the Bulls shutout the South Carolina squad the rest of the way to earn the win.

Billings is now 27-0 on the year and in first place in the Division II Liberty pool. The top two finishers from each of four pools advance to the knockout round.

The Bulls finish pool play Saturday morning against the Jr. Vegas Golden Knights at 10:00 a.m. MDT.
