BILLINGS – Colstrip and Three Forks punched State B girls tickets Friday night with semifinal wins at the Southern B divisional inside Rimrock Auto Arena.

COLSTRIP 60, Jefferson 56

Amaya LaFranier scored 24 points, helping Colstrip outlast a monster game from Jefferson’s Aubrey McMaster, 60-56 in the first semifinal.

McMaster scored 32 of the Panthers’ 56 points (57.1%), including their final bucket which tied the game at 55 with two minutes to play. Colstrip though made several free throws, and broke Jefferson’s press for a key lay-up that sealed the win.

LaFranier hit a buzzer-beating three at the end of the first half to put the Fillies up 32-27. They led by seven multiple times in the second half but couldn’t shake the Panthers. McMaster drew 10 fouls, but was clearly tired by the final quarter. She committed 12 turnovers in total.

Sossity Spotted Wolf added 13 for Colstrip, who advance to Saturday’s Southern B championship game.

THREE FORKS 51, Roundup 46

Undefeated Three Forks played their second closest game of the year, but survived a strong Roundup team 51-46 in the nightcap.

Roundup led 10-4 after making four of their first five shots, and hung with the Wolves throughout the first half. Three Forks led 29-27 at the break, but the Wolves finally put some distance between them in the third, taking a 43-33 advantage into the final eight minutes.

The Wolves’ big three did almost all the damage. Kyle Olson led everyone with 19 points and added five assists. Morgan Allen added 15 points and eight rebounds, and Shainy Mack scored 11.

Faith Nichols led Roundup with 18 points. Blythe Sealey added 12, while Savana Wolff chipped in nine and 10 rebounds.

NEXT: Colstrip and Three Forks will meet for the second straight year in the Southern B title game Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Colstrip won a 58-56 thriller in 2017. Jefferson and Roundup face loser-out games with the other two State berths from the South on the line. Jefferson will play St. Labre at 10:30 a.m. at Rocky Mountain College, while Roundup will face Townsend at 10:30 a.m. at Rimrock Auto Arena.
