PHILIPSBURG — Propelled by a strong second half, the Ennis Mustangs advanced to the Class C state tournament with a 54-33 win over Clark Fork in Philipsburg on Monday night.

The Mustangs led the Mountain Cats 25-22 at halftime, led by 15 points from junior forward Jourdain Klein. Ennis then put forth a strong defensive effort to hold Clark Fork to just 11 second half points. Klein outscored her opponent by herself in the final two quarters, scoring 12 of her game-high 27 points. Danyel Martin (10) was the only other Mustangs player to score in double digits.

Clark Fork was led by Hailey Kelly’s 12 points. The Mountain Cats entered the divisional tournament undefeated before losing 57-49 to Arlee. After losing two postseason games, the Cats will miss out on the State C tournament.
