KALISPELL – Glacier and Flathead collided for another doubleheader of close rivalry games. This time it ended in a split.

The Glacier girls got revenge for an earlier loss with a 30-24 victory over the Bravettes. Flathead’s boys then made it a season sweep of the Wolfpack, 59-56.

Flathead’s girls held a 20-16 lead at halftime, but then Glacier’s defense picked it up a notch in an already defensive game. The Wolfpack held the Bravettes to only four total points in the second half, and did not let Flathead score in the entire fourth quarter. Glacier scored the only six points of the final quarter to win the game.

Two players still reached double figures in the low-scoring showdown. Anna Schrade led Glacier with 10 points. Clara Vandenbosch led Flathead with 10 points, as well.

Glacier finishes Western AA play with a 6-6 record. Flathead falls to 4-7 and will wrap up its regular season with a home game against Missoula Sentinel on Saturday.

The boys battled back and forth all night. Flathead held leads of two points at the end of the first quarter, one point at halftime and two points going into the fourth quarter. Eric Seaman had a chance to ice the game for Flathead with 13 seconds left. He went to the free throw line for a one-and-one with 13 seconds left, but made only one of two. Brec Rademacher’s last gasp for Glacier to tie was off the mark, and the Braves celebrated a win on their rival’s home court.

Tyler Johnson paced Flathead’s attack with 22 points. Caden Harkins came alive in the second half to lead Glacier with 15 points.

Flathead improves to 7-4 in Western AA play with one more game at No. 1 Missoula Sentinel on Saturday. Glacier finishes the conference season with a 6-6 record.
