PABLO – The Arlee girls bounced back from an earlier loss in the bracket, and St. Regis’ upset run came to an end Monday. The Scarlets won a District 14C challenge game 54-43, advancing to the Western C divisional tournament and ending the Tigers season.

No. 2-seed Arlee jumped out to an 11-6 lead after the first quarter, and never trailed after that. Fifth-seeded St. Regis scored 21 points in the fourth quarter trying to make a comeback, but Arlee answered with 18 points in the final quarter.

Alyssa Vanderburg led the way with 31 points for the Scarlets. Madison Kellly led St. Regis with 24 points.

Arlee suffered an upset against No. 3-seed Charlo in the semifinals on Friday and needed to beat Noxon and Hot Springs on Saturday to advance to the challenge game. St. Regis upset No. 4-seed Noxon and top-seeded Plains before losing to Charlo 37-17 in the 14C championship game, setting up the challenge.

Arlee will meet undefeated Alberton-Superior at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the Western C divisional tournament in Hamilton.
