FRENCHTOWN — On a day that saw top-seeded teams Plentywood (District 2C), Harlowton (District 6C) and Box Elder (District 9C) lose in their district championships, the Clark Fork girls basketball team stayed perfect.
The Mountain Cats got 24 points from Hailey Kelly as they cruised to a 57-41 win over Seeley-Swan in the District 13C championship on Saturday.
Clark Fork, the Alberton-Superior co-op, jumped out to a 16-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Kelly scored seven points in the opening period and had 14 points by halftime when the Mountain Cats had 29-15 advantage.
Madison Lommen added 11 points for Clark Fork, and Madison Mask chipped in eight. Ashley Miller scored 22 points to pace Seeley-Swan.
Both teams will play at next week’s Western C divisional tournament in Hamilton. Clark Fork will face either Arlee or St. Regis in the first round, and Seeley-Swan will face Charlo.
