BELGRADE — Aubrey McMaster is making the jump from Class B girls basketball to playing at Montana Tech next season, and the senior showed in a 55-52 win over Belgrade on Tuesday night that it won’t be too tough of a transition.

McMaster found the bottom of the net early and often for the Panthers, scoring in a variety of ways from all over the floor. A missed free throw in the fourth quarter kept her from reaching 30 points, but Jefferson was still able to hold on in what was a tight game through all four quarters.

Belgrade trailed by two points in the closing moments and had two chances to bring the game to an extra period, but a key charge drawn by Ellie Evertz brought Jefferson back to the free throw line. Both free throws were missed and it looked like Belgrade’s Alexa Deming would have a clean shot under the basket, but a huge block from Emily McGinnis sealed the win.
