CHICAGO — For the second year in a row, a Bozeman Hawk has won the Montana Gatorade boys cross country runner of the year award.

The Hawks’ Duncan Hamilton took home the honor after finishing second at the Class AA state meet in the fall. He finished second at the Nike Cross Northwest Regional Championships and was named a second-team all-American by finishing 11th at the Nike Cross National Final.

The senior is the fourth Hawk to win the award. Bozeman’s Chase Equall won the award last season, Jason Holmes won the award in 2014, and Jakob Woodland took home the honors following the 2011 season. Hamilton’s win qualifies him to be a finalist for Gatorade’s national award.

Hamilton’s achievement also secures a Bozeman High sweep of the awards this year. Fellow Hawk Camila Noe recently took home the girls honor.
