CHICAGO — Bozeman senior Camila Noe was named Montana’s Gatorade girls cross country runner of the year on Monday.

Noe won the Class AA state meet last fall, breaking the tape in 17 minutes, 28.0 seconds, to help lead the Hawks to their 11th consecutive state championship. She finished 37.8 seconds ahead of second place.

“Camila was the most consistent female runner in the state and had a great state meet,” said Great Falls CMR coach Nathan Gregier. “She handles pressure very well and always runs her own race.”

Noe also won the Nike Cross Nationals Northwest Regional championships, breaking the course record with a time of 17:13.5. She placed 51st at the NXN Final as Bozeman finished fifth in the team standings.

Noe is the third runner from Bozeman to win the Gatorade award, joining fellow Hawks Caroline Hardin (2010-11) and Heidi Turner (2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10). Billings Senior’s Tiahna Vladic was the 2016-17 award winner.
