HELENA — The top-ranked Missoula Sentinel boys basketball team cruised to a 56-37 Western AA win over Helena High on Thursday.
Gaige DeShazer scored a game-high 17 points and Carroll College commit Sam Beighle added 11 for Sentinel, which started slow but finished strong to pull away for its eighth win of the season. The Spartans led just 8-4 after the first quarter, but grew the lead to 23-13 at halftime.
Alex Johnson and Connor Murgel each scored nine points to pace Helena High, which dropped to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in the Western AA. Sentinel improved to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in conference.
