BOZEMAN — Sam Vining scored a game-high 17 points while Jake Olsen added 12 points and Bryce Depping chipped in with 11 more as the Great Falls CMR boys upset No. 1 Bozeman 56-42 on Friday. It was the only the second loss of the season for the Hawks.

CMR’s defense limited Mack Anderson to 11 points, and held the Hawks to only six points in the third quarter to open a 42-32 advantage. The Rustlers outscored the Hawks in all but the first quarter in the win.

John Cislo’s Rustlers used an 18-point second quarter to take a 30-26 lead into the halftime locker room. Bozeman couldn’t overcome the deficit on its home court.
