LAUREL – Chrishon Dixon spent much of Saturday night in foul trouble, but the Laurel Locomotives still couldn’t stop him.
Dixon led all scorers with 24 points, more than half of Central’s total, as the Rams (7-3, 3-2) pulled even with Laurel (7-5, 3-2) in the Eastern A standings. Dixon scored all 13 Central points in the fourth quarter.
Central led 16-9 after one and 23-12 at halftime. The Rams went into a stall offense for the final 2:20 of the first half, which ended with a missed shot attempt.
Laurel cut the deficit to 23-17 midway through the third quarter but Central answered with a Cade Herriford three for a 29-19 lead at the end of three.
The Locomotives would cut Central’s lead to four in the fourth quarter, but the Rams never trailed after the first quarter.
