Eureka, Circle top Class B, Class C wrestling polls

GLASGOW — Coaches from around Montana have voted the Eureka Lions and Circle Wildcats to the No. 1 positions in the latest Class B and Class C wrestling polls. The rankings were released on Wednesday.

Eureka, which tallied 198 points to win last season’s State B championship, ranked ahead of Colstrip and Huntley Project in the weekly rankings. Coaches chose 160-pound Jonathan Schmidt and 182-pound Garrett Graves as the top-ranked wrestlers in their individual class.

Colstrip had four grapplers ranked No. 1 — Merlin Whitedirt (285 pounds), Nakoda Siegel (170), Ty Bradley (152) and Jackson Currier (138).

Blaine Buchanan was the lone No. 1 individual for Huntley Project. Meanwhile, Forsyth was represented by Camron Reilly (103) and Michael Weber (145) at the top of the polls.

Circle, which finished runner-up in last year’s State C team standings, saw 126-pound Lincoln Stormer remain at the top of the polls. Trey Taylor was chosen No. 3 at 138 pounds for the Wildcats.
