MILES CITY – The 60th Cowboy Invite belongs to Eagles.
Class A’s top-ranked Sidney Eagles ran away with the annual wresling tournament here on Saturday, racking up 206 points, more than 60 ahead of runner-up Thunder Basin.
Guy Melby’s Eagles captured only one individual championship — Kade Graves won the 120-pound title — but sent 11 wrestlers to the podium. Kaiden Cline and Christian Dean earned runner-up honors for Sidney.
Key winners Saturday included Billings Senior’s Charlie Klepps, who finished off the 132-pound championship against Glasgow’s Matt Reyling; Colstrip’s Jackson Currier was crowned 138-pound champion; Michael Weber of Forsyth won at 145 and Jace Rhodes of Billings West earned the 152-pound title.
Colstrip earned a trio of champions in Currier, Nakoda Siegel (170) and Merlin Whitedirt (285). The Colts finished third in the team standings, just 2.5 points behind Thunder Basin
