GREAT FALLS – Led by a stout defense, the Great Falls CMR girls basketball team defeated Great Falls High 48-38 at home Thursday. It’s the third straight victory for the Lady Rustlers over their crosstown rival.

“We just needed to pick it up. We’re a defensive team and we just needed to go out there and play defense, and that’s what we came out and did,” said CMR senior Kayci Edwards. “Fourth quarter, they did score quite a bit on us, but we definitely locked down and did what we had to do and we scored.”

“We have four really good senior guards. I thought Akasia (Denton) came in and played really well (Thursday),” said CMR head coach Brian Crosby. “Kayci (Edwards) probably had her best game. Kyra (Willis) is Kyra, she hit shots, and Addison (Gardner) is as tough as they come.”

CMR will next play at home again against Bozeman on Jan. 19.
