After crowning three champions, placing 11 total wrestlers and winning the team title at the Bob Kinney Classic over the weekend, the Cut Bank Wolves stormed up the latest Class B wrestling polls, which were released on Monday. Cut Bank launched from No. 7 to third in the latest edition.
Glasgow and Circle held at No. 1 in Class B and Class C, respectively, while all 13 top-ranked wrestlers remained the same from a week ago.
Cut Bank's Bradin Murphy (103 pounds), Matt Larson (138) and Austin Vanek (160) each won individual championships, while Kierrin Rooney (120) was runner-up at the tournament, which featured teams from around the western portion of the state. Hunter Kennedy (113) and Wes Omsberg (285) both placed third for the Wolves, guiding the team to 175 total points. St. Ignatius-Charlo was second with 171.
Vanek and teammate Andrew Anderson (152) held onto their No. 1 individual rankings this week. Anderson didn't compete in Superior, according to the official TrackWrestling.com results. Murphy, a freshman, went from unranked to No. 4 in the 103-pound weight class.
Glasgow placed fourth at its 24th annual Scottie Invitational over the weekend, with Colten Fast earning the 132-pound championship. Fast and Dylan Nieskens (182) remained No. 1, with Scotties Kaden Zimmerman (160), Cooper Larson (205) and Mayson Phipps (285) all sitting No. 3 in their respective weight classes. Kyler Hallock is fourth at 160 pounds.
Huntley Project climbed to No. 2 in Class B behind top-ranked Gavin Nedens (103) and No. 2s Parker Craig (113) and Clayton Donally (138).
