BILLINGS — After trailing 20-9 midway through their dual Tuesday night, Billings Senior came back to win the final six matches and beat crosstown rival West 39-20 on senior night in front of a packed house in the Broncs' auxiliary gym.
West won five of the first seven matches of the dual, including an 8-2 win from Drake Rhodes over fellow state champion Matthew DeWitt. That put the Bears ahead 20-9 when Senior started its run.
Jayden Ramirez, one of the Broncs' senior captains, won a major decision over Logan Scott to end West's streak. Sophomore Idren Peak then earned a pin at 138 pounds to pull Senior within 20-19, before Alex Cherette eventually gave the Broncs the lead. Wins by Luke Brewer and Thomas Klepps, plus a forfeit win by Isaiah Murch, ended the night.
Both teams head to Miles City for the Cowboy Invitational Friday and Saturday.
