HELENA -- Add more track and field duties to Jesse Zentz's responsibilities.
Zentz was hired as the new Helena High School girls track and field coach, according to a release from Helena activities director Tim McMahon. The hiring is pending school board approval.
Zentz replaces longtime Bengals mentor Sheila Williams, who retired last year. An assistant in the Helena High cross country and track programs for several years, Zentz completed his first season as Helena High girls cross country coach this fall, guiding the Bengals to a third-place finish.
Kylie Hartnett finished runner-up for Helena, while Odessa Zentz, Jesse's daughter, was all-state with a 14th-place showing.
Jesse Zentz has also mentored the Helena NOVAS and Helena Vigilante youth running programs in the Capital City.
"The Helena Public Schools are excited to announce his hiring, and look for a continued strong girls track program at Helena High," read the release.
