MISSOULA — Missoula County Public Schools is putting a pause on all sub-varsity winter sports competitions.
MTN Sports confirmed the postponement with Missoula Hellgate High School activities director Nick Laatsche on Wednesday. The sub-varsity competitions will be postponed until Jan. 19, when the schools will reevaluate the rest of the season.
That means practices may continue, but games or matches for JV and freshman basketball, wrestling and swimming teams and athletes are postponed.
Winter sports competitions are allowed to begin on Jan. 2, with the MCPS varsity teams still scheduled to play.
